Handlers and Guides wanted! We are looking for pe Handlers and Guides wanted! We are looking for people with a passion for dog sledding and with the energy and motivation to be an important part of our team with the goal to build up the best dog team in the world. We live in Slussfors, Sweden at the border of Vindelfjällens nature reserve, here we have a long snow season (at least 6 months) with endless training opportunities in fantastic nature. This year we focus more than ever on racing, and we need a lot of help with training the racing dogs. You will have the chance to participate in Metsjövidda Fjällrace a 320km race here in Slussfors, run a B-team on Femundløpet or The Gold Rush run and follow as the race handler to Finnmarksløpet. We need one person starting as soon as possible, and a second person from 1st August until 15 Maj 2023. We arrange 5-day overnight tours, and we need two guides for the season, starting 15 November. You would be guiding up to four tours per month with a group of 4 guests. In between the tours there is time for normal kennel work and long-distance training. Race Update: If you have been following the tracke Race Update: If you have been following the tracker then you maybe saw that Petter was slower on the last runs and also took quite long rest in the checkpoints. Unfortunately his dogs caught a stomach bug that caused diarrhea and bad appetite, so he had to work on that a lot. On top of that there are also some sore muscles and wrists that need attention. His focus now shifted from competing to just finishing with a happy and healthy dog team. Do you remember the 16th of March 2018? This day 4 Do you remember the 16th of March 2018? This day 4 years ago Petter won his 2nd @finnmarkslopet in an epic finish. With a 2h lead just a few hours from the finish line he had an accidental breeding so Brigitte Næss caught up with him and overtook him for the lead. But Petter got going again, took the lead back and won the race by 7 Minutes. Did you ever wonder what came out of this accidental breeding? Well wonder no more. Meet Alta, one of the newest members in Petters race team! He finished the Femund F650 with @mattyswiss this year and earned himself a spot in Petters Finnmarksløpet team! He's a bit shy but very nice if you get to know him. He's a big running and eating machine and never seems to get tired.
