Our Accommodations

Where you will stay during your husky tour

On our tours, you’ll stay in a variety of accommodations, ranging from a typical red Swedish house with every modern comfort to a wooden log cabin just like those from 100 years ago, or even in a tent on our expeditions. Here, we’d like to give you a brief overview of what you can look forward to.

The Guesthouse

Our comfortable accommodation for the first and last nights on all our tours. Fully equipped with two bathrooms and a large kitchen.

Wilderness Cabins

Our standard type of accommodation on the trail. Very rustic wooden cabins with no electricity or running water.

The Tents

For even greater flexibility, we take our tents with us on our expeditions and camp off the beaten track.

Our GuestHouses

You’ll spend your first and last nights in one of our welcoming guest houses, a comfortable place to meet your guide and prepare for the adventure ahead — and where you’ll return afterwards to unwind and share the highlights of your tour.

For a good start to your trip

Our guest houses are traditional Swedish wooden houses with a cosy atmosphere. They’re equipped with a full kitchen, heating and two bathrooms, ensuring a comfortable stay. The rooms have two to three single beds and offer space to store luggage and anything you don’t need during the tour.

*We allocate rooms in the guesthouse upon arrival. Solo travellers usually receive a single room, though sharing may occasionally be required depending on the group formation. In the cabins, all guests sleep in one room.

Wilderness Cabins

Swedish rusticity of the grid

Most of the tour nights are spent in wilderness cabins — simple wooden log cabins without electricity or running water. To heat the cabin, we fire up the wood‑burning stove, and we light the rooms with candles. We fetch water from nearby springs or streams and carry it back to the cabin in canisters and buckets. Most cabins have bunk beds, and our evening meal is often prepared outdoors over an open fire pit known as a murruka.

Because these cabins require hands‑on work — heating, fetching water, cooking, and general upkeep — it’s important that all guests lend a hand, even after a long day on the sled.

While the cabins vary from tour to tour, their basic facilities and rustic charm remain the same.

Guests usually sleep in bunk beds. We provide our guests with sleeping bags and pillows for the tour so that they can stay warm in the cabin at night.

Almost all the cabins have an outhouse located outside the cabin. Here, we make ourselves ‘comfortable’ with toilet paper and candlelight, despite the cold.

There is no electricity in the cabins. We’ll use candles for light and our wood-burning stove for heat – we’ll also be using it for cooking.

There are no water pipes, so we fetch water from nearby springs or rivers using canisters and buckets.

our Tents

On our expeditions, we sleep in Wilderness Cabins and tents, giving us the freedom and flexibility to choose our route each day. Being surrounded by the wilderness and so close to the dogs creates a truly unique Arctic experience. Depending on the weather forecast and the route plan, the guide decides which tents to use for each tour.

Hilleberg Tents

Thanks to their design, our red Hilleberg tents are ideal even for windy campsites in the mountains. They provide sleeping space for 2–3 people and a vestibule for storing clothes and supplies.

the Nortent

Our Nortent has a small built-in stove which we light in the evening before going to bed, so we can enjoy the warmth at the start of the night. The tent has space for five people.
