Ready for the long tour ...
This tour is the right choice for all those who want to explore the wild beauty of Lapland’s extensive nature with their own team of Huskies. On this journey you will see stunning landscapes and experience how wonderful it is to be outside with the dogs. While you learn everything about dog sledding and outdoor living you will feel as one with your team. After your arrival in Slussfors you will meet the dogs and we will tell you the primary things about dog sledding and the expedition.
We will have dinner together and the first night you will spend in our cottage at the kennel. The following days will start early in the morning (7:30 am) with feeding the dogs and having a good breakfast. After packing the sleds we hook up the dogs. Petter will lead the expedition with a team of 8-12 dogs carrying most of the food and equipment in his sled. The next hours we will spend on the trail, gliding through the wonderful landscape of Lapland, always heading north. Around noon we will stop for a longer break to have our lunch and give the dogs a snack. After another stretch we arrive at a cosy wilderness cabin. We will take care of the dogs, chop firewood and together we will cook a nourishing evening meal. The crackling log fire in the stove will make us really warm while we chat about the day and plan our next stretch. Of course, you are free to read in peace, write your diary or just dream. With some luck you can watch the mystical northern light in the sky – in absolute silence, far away from any civilisation. Then it’s time to have a good night´s rest to recharge your batteries for the next day and new adventures.
All in all we will be away for 4 or 6 days – over Kirjesålandet and through the Vindel Mountain nature reserve – and every single day will impress us anew.
From day to day you get to know your dogs better and you will experience a lot of new things. We think you will have a wonderful time.
Then - after almost one week - we finally arrive at Slussfors where you will spend another restful night in our cottage and then it is time to say goodbye.
