About us

I (Petter Karlsson) am 30 years old and live in Slussfors, between Storuman and Tärnaby in Lapland, Sweden. Since I was a little boy I have had a great interest in dogs and  I used to follow my Dad, Roland when he trained his hunting-dogs. During my childhood I dreamt of being a musher. I wanted to mush a great sleddog team and run long distances. In 1994 I bought my first dog and in 1999 I participated in my first sleddog race.

Since then I have continued to race and developed a larger and faster sleddog team, with the ambition to become the world's best musher in the unlimited class. (Unlimited class, means that you can use an unlimited number of dogs.)

2002 I won the bronze medal in the European Championship.
2003 I won the gold medal in the Swedish Championship.
2004 I won the silver medal in the Nordic Championship.
2005 I became the European Champion, Gold medalist.

During the years that I have worked on my sleddog career, I have also worked with farming. But I realized, that in order to achieve my goal, I would have to work with the dogs full-time. Therefore I started my own company "Petter Karlsson Sleddogs" in August 2004.

We offer our guests the chance to experience the wilderness of Lapland with a sleddog team. We offer advertising spaces and advertising schemes to companies that wish to be seen in sporty and adventurous situations.
Having good sponsors is of great importance in my efforts to reach my goal and become the best musher in the world, within the sleddog sport. 

Angela Stone who is educated in tourism is my helper in the company.
